panic attack/depression

Are you suffering from depression too? If so, it helps to talk with somebody and just let it all out

About panic attacks, wow i have them at complete random times. I usually have to calm myself down and make myself stop freaking out lol. But does Zoloft help panic attacks? hm never knew that

Yeah I have depression and am on Prozac.
It works really well, but yeah, there is weight gain.

Re: panic attack/depression

Omega 3 Fatty acids, such as Fish Oil, Flax Seed Oil, etc., can help anxiety and also depression, and can be safely taken with meds, too.  For these issues, it helps to take three times a day, with food.

There are many natural remedies that can help, however not all can be taken with meds, so it is wise to work with someone who is knowledgeable on natural remedies and possible contraindications.

Re: panic attack/depression

I am not a doctor, just sharing my personal experience as I have had depressions and anxiety for sometime. The best way to get over anxiety and depression is to take a break from your regular schedule, go out, and take good sleep. This helps in clearing the mind and try consulting a specialist who can suggest you as how you can get over your problem.
Xanax is one of those medicines which help in relieving anxiety and depression, but this medicine should only be used for small duration as this is habit forming drug and sometimes the withdrawal symptoms can be more depressing. The withdrawal from this medicine is a slow and gradual process rather than abrupt. Xanax works by slowing down the nervous system and hence relieves anxiety.

Re: panic attack/depression

Zoloft does work, but my x-husband used to call it the sex killer. I found that it numbed me. I really just didn't care or bother about anything. Did it help with my moods? No, I felt nothing really. No good, no bad. Nothing. Needless to say, I don't take it anymore. I share the same approach that you do, I try to calm myself down. Later for random attacks, I was prescribed Kalozopen (Kalodopen-what ever not sure on the spelling of that, or "exact" pronunciation, but I LOVED it. *****ONLY IMPORTANT problem, is that it is habbit forming. Again, I am not taking it for that reason. I really wish that is wasn't addictive, because like Blue October quotes "it worked like a charm on me". smile If you like Herbal teas, there is a wide variety of calming teas out there. (I know that doesn't help when you are out and about) Also, if you go to a herbal store near you, they may have homeopathic's that are in quick disolve pill form. I hope that this helped somehow. Good luck. smile
